The Hitman and the Thief
The Hitman and the ThiefFresh out of Organic Chemistry, Johnathan Boesel is actually a genius at his age. He has a vast knowledge of chemicals and how they work, even if he hasn't completed a single college course on the subject. As you might expect, Bruise has two passions in life. One is building and designing cars, the other is getting his own organic chemistry degree, so he can be the next Carl Bruum von Richtofen.Briggs and Steady are fast friends because Briggs is a licensed mechanic and Steady sells drug dealers the parts they need to keep the business running. The two of them work as a team and everyone in the car business knows that. When Briggs and Steady are all by themselves, they still manage to be a good friend. When Briggs' son is killed in a car crash, the both of them struggle to come up with a plan for retribution. The only thing that seems to work is turning one of their jobs into a robbery. In the end, they are no match for an army of chemical scientists and must fle e the country to Mexico. It's a scary journey and one that open their eyes to the dangers that lie within the world.Bruise and Briggs are no longer the only organic chemistry experts in the book. There are others in the book as well, who have some opinions of their own.The book is one of the best I've read, even though I didn't find any 'turning points.' The book had me up to the mid point, but I never found the time to find out what would happen in the final chapter.Briggs and Steadyis filled with high-flying car chases, dangerous chemicals, gun-toting scientists, and many others that were interesting. They make a great duo and it would be a fun book to read for a date night.
